Devotions - One Voice

Acts 2.1-13

Read the text above and let's think about it together.

Two toughts from the text that I would like to share:

1) “…they were all together…” (Acts 2.1) – The first thing we learn from this text is that being together is key for our ministry. Think about it! How unite we are with other core ministries of our countries? How unite we are as SAA team? What would we do to improve this? Is this possible being so far from each other? Think about it… Do something!

2)  “...we hear them (...) in our own tongues!” (Acts 2.11) – We have different cultures, different languages… And we communicate with many countries (GPAs). Do you have this in mind when writing a proposal/report? Have you thought that some things that are usual for us may not be polite in other languages/cultures? Even pictures may be not well accepted. Let’s have this in mind and remember one of our leadership principles: Master communications!

Think about it. Do something about it!

Meet Liv, CIV Administrator in Brazil

My name is Liv Almeida Nunes Ribeiro Dias, I'm 28, I am married and have no children.

I’ve been attending a Baptist church since I was born, where I accepted Christ as my Savior and I was baptized on December 26, 1994.

I started working for Compassion as a translator and after one year, in September 2004 I joined the staff as a SDS Associate, which made me very happy, because I understood and understand what I do in Compassion as a ministry in my life.

In July 2008 I was invited to join the PI team as Program Implementation Assistant, which allowed me to know other areas more deeply and gave me a broader view of the great work of reaching lives for Christ, which is developed by Compassion.

My target is every day be in the Lord's hands to accomplish what He wants for my life.

I love the ministry and vision of Compassion, and I thank God to be part of this ministry. I know I can contribute to Compassion in this new challenge, because I'm always open to learn.
